Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Jaipuri dohar?
A Jaipuri dohar is a lightweight, double-layered cotton blanket made from soft mulmul fabric, hand block printed by artisans in Jaipur. It's breathable and ideal for warm nights or as a light cover through most of the year.
What is a 3D Dohar?
A 3D Dohar has a triple-layered mulmul construction instead of the usual two layers, giving it a bit more softness and body while staying lightweight — a good middle ground if you want slightly more warmth than a standard dohar without the weight of a quilt.
Is a dohar suitable for AC rooms or mild winters?
Yes. While dohars are most popular in summer, their layered mulmul cotton also works well in air-conditioned rooms or during mild winters. For colder nights, our cotton-filled Jaipuri razai (quilt) is the warmer option.
Are Sahyansh dohars good for gifting?
Yes — our hand block print dohars are popular as wedding, housewarming and festival gifts, combining everyday comfort with a handcrafted, heritage feel you won't find in mass-manufactured bedding.
What sizes are available?
Our dohars are available in Single (60 x 90 in / 150 x 225 cm) and Double (90 x 112 in / 225 x 280 cm) sizes.
How do I wash a Jaipuri dohar?
Sahyansh dohars have a layer of soft cotton fleece between the two layers of mulmul, so we recommend a gentle wash in cold water to keep the fabric and print looking their best over time.

Product Care
Natural dye colours may soften slightly after the first few washes — this is normal and part of the charm of authentic hand block printing. To keep the colours vibrant for longer, always wash in cold water, use a mild detergent, avoid bleach completely, and dry in shade away from direct sunlight. Turning the fabric inside out before washing also helps preserve the print.
Machine wash cold with a mild detergent on a gentle cycle. Avoid bleach and do not tumble dry. Dry in shade to preserve the block print colours. First wash separately as slight colour bleeding is normal for natural dyes. If the listing doesn't specify washing instructions, dry clean only.
